It was a fantastic tournament where the year 7 girls showed what they can really do when they get the ball down and play passing futsal. They scored a staggering seven goals and only conceded one with some great goals from Jess Levy and Megan Roome. Up against varying opposition the girls won three games out of the four games and marginally lost their final game due to a goalkeeping blunder! All the girls played their part and ended up finishing in 1st place and easily securing a place in the County Championship Tournament. Player of the tournament goes to Emma Goldingay who put in a fantastic performance playing in defence using her tactical and spatial awareness to ensure nobody came close to the Sandringham goal. Thursday 24th January - Y11 National Cup Basketball V Thomas Lord Audley

On Thursday we took a long away trip to Colchester to play the TLA Giants. In what was most definitely not our most vintage performance we took the points for the win with a 50-47 win. We left it late to take control of the game, where Jacob Moody increased the pace and dominated at both ends, including a dunk on the break. The win does secure a spot in the regional round, our opponents will depend on our final two games.

Monday 28th January - Y11 County League Basketball V Highfield

After two losses last year to Highfield who went on to take the County title we were keen to rectify previous mistakes. The game was a fiery affair with high passions and a fast tempo. In the first quarter we executed some very good fast breaks that took us 15 points clear. Just before half time Highfield retaliated with a number of points from outside shooting. The game was within 5 at half time with a number of their players in foul trouble. Down the stretch, we increased the intensity on defence with Alex Cleaver and Jacob Moody closing down their most dangerous player. Offensively Miles Godman and Sam Tanton wreaked havoc taking us clear. The final score was a well deserved 90-77 win, which will put us into the County semi final with one game remaining.
