This week the year 11 girls triumphed over STAGs in the plate final. Having recently competed in a close match against STAGs, the girls were prepared for another exciting match. The team was captained by Kazia Adams who dictated the pace of the game as centre right from the very start. We took an early lead and prevented STAGs from scoring at all in the first quarter due to some fierce defending by Lily Wright. In the middle quarters of the game STAGs fought back and managed to go into the last quarter with a one goal lead. The whole Sandringham team pulled together and with the shots by Ellie Glover and Alice Lawrence going in one after the other, we managed to clinch the win in the dying seconds of the game and gain the first bit of silverware of 2011 for the Sandringham School trophy cabinet. Huge congratulations to the whole team.
