On Tuesday over 400 year 7 students from across St. Albans
and Harpenden descended on Sandringham’s school field for our annual Mob Race.
The weather held off for a change and the students were eager for their first
taste of competitive secondary school sport after a summer of success. The
girls race was won by St. Albans Girls School and the boys race won by Verulam.
The turnout for Sandringham was phenomenal with close to 100 students from our
new year 7 taking part and entering into the spirit of the event. First girl
home for us was Grace Gill in 6th position and first boy; Elliot
Breen in 7th. The event was a huge success and I look forward to
reporting on even more from all year groups throughout the year.
